The Adidas Yeezy line remains one of the most impactful sneaker collaborations in fashion history. It all began after Kanye West, ex-husband of Kim Kardashian, ended his partnership with Nike in 2013 due to creative differences. Adidas quickly seized the opportunity and brought Kanye on board, giving him full creative control. The result? The birth of one of the biggest and most successful sneaker franchises ever - YEEZY.

From the moment the Yeezy 350 V1 launched in 2015, followed by the now-iconic Yeezy 350 V2 in 2016, the Yeezy brand has defined innovation, comfort, and cultural relevance.

But with so much change in the industry, especially after the Adidas-Kanye fallout in 2022, people are asking, are Yeezys still worth buying in 2025?

Let’s break it down below-

How the Yeezy Legacy Was Built

The Yeezy brand is more than just sneakers; it's a timeline of some of the most game-changing designs in footwear history.

  • Yeezy 750 (2015): The first-ever Yeezy with Adidas. A bold, high-top suede silhouette with Boost technology.

  • Yeezy 350 V1 (2015): The low-top revolution, released in colourways like Turtle Dove and Pirate Black, with comfort and style never seen before.

  • Yeezy 350 V2 (2016): The signature sneaker of the Yeezy line, with a sleeker design, translucent side stripe, and a Boost sole that feels like walking on clouds.

  • Yeezy 700 (2017): The Wave Runner started the chunky sneaker wave and became a staple in streetwear.

  • Yeezy 500 (2018): Another bulky silhouette, with Adiprene cushioning and earthy tones.

  • Yeezy Slides (2019): Ultra-minimal EVA foam slides built for comfort and everyday use.

  • Yeezy Foam RNNR (2020): Made with algae-based foam, a lightweight slip-on with a futuristic build.

  • Yeezy 450 (2021): An aggressive, futuristic design with a claw-like midsole that made it one of Yeezy’s boldest releases.

Kanye’s vision was always ahead of the curve. His silhouettes broke away from traditional sneaker design, embracing futuristic aesthetics and all-day comfort, a combination that made Yeezys iconic.

What Happened After Kanye Left?

In 2022, Adidas officially ended its partnership with Kanye West due to public controversies. But they were left with over $1 billion in unsold Yeezy inventory. By 2023, they began re-releasing these products at discounted prices to clear out stock. Many pairs were sold at nearly 50% off, and naturally, resale values dropped as well.

Yet despite all of this, Yeezys remain in high demand, especially the 350 V2 and the Slides.

The Yeezy 350 V2: Still the Flagship

If there's one Yeezy model that has consistently led the charge, it's the 350 V2.

The first release of the Yeezy 350 V2 Zebra in India saw only 15 pairs dropped at the Adidas Originals store in Connaught Place, New Delhi. With a retail price of Rs. 18,999, resale prices on platforms like OLX soared to Rs. 70,000 - Rs. 75,000.

Post 2019, popular colourways like Cinder, Cloud White, Citrin, Ash Pearl, Mono Mist, and Ash Blue were launched at an MRP of Rs. 21,999. Later releases like Carbon Beluga, Onyx, Bone, Granite, Slate, Static, and more saw the MRP increase to Rs. 22,999.

For years, the average resale price hovered between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 35,000, depending on size and colour. But after Adidas began clearing inventory in 2023 and 2024, resale rates dropped, and now in 2025, you can get most Yeezy 350 V2S in the range of Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000.

That makes the 350 V2 one of the best all-day wear sneakers, combining futuristic design, Boost cushioning, and street-level appeal at a much more accessible price point.

Yeezy Slides: Everyday Comfort, Simplified

Originally launched in 2019, Yeezy Slides made waves for their clean design and effortless comfort. First launched in neutral tones like Pure, Resin, and Bone, they had an original MRP of Rs. 4,999 and were reselling between Rs. 15,000 - Rs. 20,000 due to high demand and limited availability.

With the release of newer colourways like Onyx, Slate Grey, Granite, Salt, Slate Marine, Enflame, Glow Green, and more, Adidas increased the MRP to Rs. 6,999. Today, you can find most Yeezy Slides selling between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 12,000, depending on size and colour.

What makes them popular even in 2025?

  • One-piece EVA foam design that delivers all-day comfort

  • Minimalist, versatile look that fits into any outfit

  • Genderless sizing and styling

  • Still viewed as a staple for casual, off-duty fits

While they may not carry the same resale heat as the 350 V2S, they’re still one of the most comfortable and functional slip-ons you can own.
